Bhatta Parsaul stir: Trusted senior cops shunted out

Three days after the high voltage political drama at Bhatta Parsaul which involved dharna and the subsequent arrest of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi,the state government on late Saturday evening shifted Additional Director General (ADG) of NCR Zone,Meerut,Gurbachan Lal and SSP of Gautam Budhha Nagar Surya Nath Singh.

Lal,who was known as the most trusted police officer of the government,has now been given the insignificant posting in Radio & Wireless unit of UP Police. Similarly,Surya Nath Singh,who had enjoyed postings in important districts during the BSP rule,has been shifted to Police Training Directorate at Lucknow as Superintendent of Police.

Significantly,Singh had suffered head injuries in the attack by the farmers on May 7 and had not joined the office when Rahul Gandhi had managed to give police the slip and entered Bhatta Parsaul on Wednesday.

Now,the government has posted another trusted officer KL Meena as ADG of NCR Zone,Meerut. Meena held the position of ADG of Security Department. Jyoti Narayan,who was SP at Police Training Directorate,has been posted as SSP of Gautam Budhha Nagar.

Besides,the government today transferred 33 Additional SPs and 39 Deputy SPs.
