Ayodhya: NBWs against two BJP MPs

Passing the order, Special judge Shashi Mauli Tewari fixed July 19 as next date of hearing.

A Special CBI court in Lucknow issued non-bailable warrants against six persons, including BJP MPs Sakshi Mahraj and Brij Bhushan Saran Singh, accused in the Ayodhya disputed structure demolition case for failing to appear before the court.
“All the accused had filed exemption applications in the court. The court, however, rejected the applications and issued NBWs against them,” said R K Yadav, special counsel (CBI).

Passing the order, Special judge (Ayodhya Prakaran) Shashi Mauli Tewari fixed July 19 as next date of hearing.

Besides Unnao MP Maharaj and Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan, other accused against whom warrants were issued are Pawan Kumar Pandey (former MLA), Amar Nath Goyal, Jai Bhagwan Goyal and Ram Chandra Khatri.

Yadav said two prosecution witnesses — Praveen Jain and Vijendra Singh — appeared before the court, but their statements could not be recorded.
