Tigress found dead in Kushinagar,one held
LUCKNOW: The body of an adult tigress was recovered from a pit in the Madanpur forest range of Kushinagar district late on Thursday night. A man reportedly trying to extricate the body from the pit was arrested. The animal had dead 48 hours before the matter was reported and the body has been sent for postmortem,said a Forest official.

Official jailed for ‘unfairly’ failing student
MUZAFFARNAGAR: The District Consumer Redressal Forum has charged a senior Education department officer with contempt and sentenced him to three months’ imprisonment. The forum has also imposed a fine of Rs 200 on the Regional Secretary of Uttar Pradesh High School and Intermediate Education Board for defying its order.
Niraj Kumar,a student,had complained that he was said to be absent in an examination and failed,when he had appeared for it in 2007. The student had filed a petition before the forum on February 24,2009,which had then directed the secretary to pay Rs 17,000 to him.
