A JOINT team of the Special Task Force (STF) and the Mainpuri police rescued State Bank of India (SBI) branch manager Shahzade Singh from Kishni area of Mainpuri district on Monday.
Singh,manager of Sarsai Nawar branch in Usrahar area of Etawah district,was kidnapped while returning home in Mainpuri on April 1. A ransom of Rs 30 lakh was demanded for his release initially but subsequently reduced to Rs 10 lakh before the police team rescued the victim. Five accused,including a woman,were arrested during police raids.
Superintendent of Police (SP),Mainpuri,D K Rai said with the surveillance of the mobile phones used by the kidnappers,on Sunday they came to know that Singh was kept in a house at Nagla Bishuna village in Saurikh area of Kannauj district. The joint team of STF and the district police raided the place and arrested one Pramod Kumar Yadav.
