A flop show,says CM

Chief Minister Mayawati said on Tuesday the nationwide bandh against inflation called by 13 non-UPA and non-NDA parties has been a flop show in Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Minister Mayawati said on Tuesday the nationwide bandh against inflation called by 13 non-UPA and non-NDA parties has been a flop show in Uttar Pradesh.

Condemning the alleged violence by the Samajwadi Party cadres in different parts of the state,Mayawati said SP goons have tried to unleash violence and intimidated traders to close their establishments. She added that the SP,true to its character, did its best to disrupt normal life, but their evil designs were thwarted by the people. In Lucknow, buses of the UP State Road Transport Corporation were set on fire by SP workers while they attempted to disrupt the movement of trains in Lucknow,Allahabad and Ghaziabad, said the chief minister.

Mayawati said the violence caused by anti-social and goonda elements has proved that the SP has nothing to do with inflation and the issues important to the common people. The BSP president maintained that her party has no reservation against the nationwide bandh call against inflation since the issue affects the common people, but no party has the right to disturb order and destroy public property.

Reiterating her commitment to fight for people’s issues,Mayawati said the BSP was with the common people on the issue of inflation and particularly the rise in prices of fertiliser and petroleum products.
