7 dead,20 hurt in accident

Seven persons died and over 20 sustained injuries after a minibus collided with a speeding Scorpio near Jari market in the Trans-Yamuna area on Tuesday morning. The deceased have been identified as Pankaj Gupta,Nitin Gupta,Phoola Devi,Smita,Sudha,bus conductor Manish and driver of the Scorpio,Saleem. A mini bus carrying around 40 persons was returning from a wedding in Chakghat to Allahabad. The Scorpio carrying eight persons was speeding towards Shankargarh from Pratapgarh. The bus driver in an attempt to overtake a bus hit the Scorpio. After hitting the Scorpio,the bus hit a tree and turned turtle,causing injury to over 20 others. The driver of the bus managed to escape.
