Xaviers adopts Aila-hit village

The St. Xaviers College has taken up the task of rehabilitation and rebuilding of Bholakhali,a village in North 24-Parganas,which was devastated by Cyclone Aila

The St. Xaviers College has taken up the task of rehabilitation and rebuilding of Bholakhali,a village in North 24-Parganas,which was devastated by Cyclone Aila.

The college has taken up the initiative in collaboration with Seva Kendra.

To raise funds for the project,it organised Concert for a Cause on Friday in the college auditorium.

With a footfall of 700 plus audience,the event saw Usha Uthup,Swapon Bose,Crosswindz,Shilajit,Lakkhichara,Rupankar,Dohar,Chandrabindoo participating in the concert.

Around 485 families were affected by the severe cyclonic storm which battered the coastal North and South 24-Parganas on May 25.
