Designer Ravi Bajaj launched his womenswear boutique at the DLF Emporio Mall yesterday. “The NRI footfalls are higher here,so it makes sense to launch a store here,” said the designer,whose other stand-alone outlets are at GK-I N block market. The DLF store carries a specialised line of couture saris from his spring-summer 2010 collection. “I personally prefer my designs in black and white,with very limited sequin work,” said Bajaj. The 50 odd saris showcased here,ranging from Rs 40,000 and above,are embellished with Swarovski crystals,pearls and beads. Bajaj,who entered the fashion week fold with a show last year in Delhi,said he would probably stay away from it and let the younger designers try their luck. “I’d only be interested if I can raise the bar on such shows. They’ve become too predictable and boring,” he shrugged.
