Separate Board exam for Class IX proposed

The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has proposed separate board examinations for Class IX and Class X from the next academic year.

The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has proposed separate board examinations for Class IX and Class X from the next academic year. This year,the Madhyamik examination (Class X) was conducted based on a bifurcated syllabus,and Class IX examinations were internally conducted by the schools. The proposal comes amidst,the decision of the West Bengal Council of Higher Education Department to conduct Class XI and XII Board examination separately from this year. Education Minister Bratya Basu,however,said nothing has been finalised yet. “We are discussing the proposal,” he added.
