Days after Vishwa Vedic Sanathan Sangh (VVSS) chief Jitender Singh Vishen’s niece Rakhi Singh, a plaintiff in the lead Gyanvapi-Kashi Vishwanath temple petition, wrote an open letter to the President of India seeking her permission to euthanise herself, Vishen on Friday said that MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh’s father Uday Pratap Singh would be the litigant on behalf of the family.

Raghuraj Pratap Singh, alias, Raja Bhaiyya, is an MLA from Kunda and the founder of the Jansatta Dal Loktantrik Party.

Speaking with The Indian Express on Friday evening, Vishen said that Uday Pratap is like an elder to him and will now represent the Vishen family in the ongoing Gyanvapi cases in Varanasi.

“How can I be the litigant when I can’t go to Varanasi? If I go to Varanasi I will be arrested in some fake cases because of some people and the local administration. Uday Ji is my elder and he visited me yesterday (Thursday) and suggested that he could be the litigant. I accepted. I will give him the power of attorney and he will pursue the cases,” said Vishen.

Vishen added, “Bade Raja sahab Uday Pratap told me that Sanatan Hindu dharm must be alert and that the fight needed to be given an edge now so that the traitors among Hindus could be gotten rid of.”
In a letter released on Tuesday, Rakhi Singh wrote, “You (President) are requested to pave the way for me to get rid of this immense mental pain and agony by granting me the permission for euthanasia so that I can attain ultimate peace by sleeping eternally.”

In the letter, she had also said that she would wait for the President’s reply till June 9 and if no response is received by then, the decision would be hers.

In her open letter, Rakhi Singh wrote that the other four petitioners in the case — Sita Sahu, Laxmi Devi, Manju Vyas, Rekha Pathak — and their lawyer Hari Shankar Jain and his son Vishnu Jain have defamed her, her uncle Vishen and his wife Kiran Singh. On June 3, Vishen announced that his family members would not pursue the Gyanvapi cases anymore.
