One person was arrested for allegedly molesting the wife of a police officer in Parnasree area of the city on Tuesday. In her complaint to the police,the middle-aged woman accused her landlord of molesting her inside the home. The woman was alone in her room when the landlord barged in and allegedly molested her, the police said.

Junglemahal CEO,wife killed in road mishap

The Chief Executive Officer of Paschimanchal Unnayan Parshad was among the four killed when the car in which they were travelling hit a stationary truck on the Durgapur Expressway on Tuesday. Tanmay Mitra,the CEO of the body created by the erstwhile Left Front government to look after the Maoist-hit districts in the states western region,was travelling with his wife Annapurna Mitra and two others including the driver.

Metros largest station opens today

KOLKATA: Metro will add another station to its network on Wednesday with the opening of Noapara station. Metro Railway said the new station would be the 24th station and the largest so far with four platforms,three elevators and six escalators.
