New pension scheme

Bengal,along with Tripura and Kerala — all Left ruled states — is yet to become a part of the New Pension Scheme that was launched in May this year.

Bengal,along with Tripura and Kerala — all Left ruled states — is yet to become a part of the New Pension Scheme (NPS) that was launched in May this year. “The state government is yet to enroll its employees for the new pension scheme like the other states have,” said Praveen Kumar Tiwari,Executive Director,Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority at a seminar in Kolkata on Friday. “If the government has decided not to register who are we to say anything,” Tiwari added. The scheme has been made compulsory for all government employees joining from 2004.
