Mollah out from CPM body

The 19-member CPM state secretariat was reconstituted on Sunday with the exit of maverick leader Rezzaq Mollah. Two new members — Sujan Chakrabarty,secretary of CPM’s South 24-Parganas district committee,and Amiya Patra,secretatry of party’s Bankura district committee — were inducted. Mollah,who was the minister for land and land reforms in the Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee cabinet,said he did not mind being dropped. “It will be the people who will decide who is popular and who is not,’’ Mollah said after the meeting. Former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee,who skipped the CPM’s Kozhikode Congress last month,was present throughout the session today.
