Two-year-old girl,Sujaya Hembram,separated from her family during the search operations of the centre-state security forces in her village on Friday,was reunited with her mother after 50 hours near Kadasol forest. The girl had fled her home at Kadasol village holding on to her mother when the security forces were searching their house. They allegedly assaulted and detained her father,Sibu Hembram,suspecting him of being a Maoist. Fearing arrest,her mother Ratimani Hembram fled and took shelter in a Trinamool Congress relief camp in Goaltore. Security forces suddenly cracked down on our house. They dragged my husband out and started beating him up suspecting him of being a Maoist. Fearing that we would also be attacked,we fled. But in the rush,I somehow lost my daughter, said Ritamani. After reaching the relief camp,I looked for my daughter and then reported the incident to the local Trinamool leaders who spoke to the administration, she added. Sujaya,meanwhile,had strayed to the border of the Kadasol forest from where she was rescued. On Saturday,after the incident was reported,the local administration and security forces started looking for the girl. On Sunday,the team rescued Sujaya and returned her to her mother. We have rescued the girl and she is now with her mother. We are looking into the matter. If any foul play is suspected,we will order a probe, said Debal Dutta,a magistrate,who accompanied the centre-state security forces during the operation. Security forces entered Kadasol village on Friday before reaching Pingboni in Goaltore. On Sunday too,the forces carried out search operations in Kadasol village.
