Naxal leader produced in Bankshal court
Gaur Chakraborty,spokesperson of the banned CPI (Maoist),who was arrested under the UAPA,was produced in the fast track court in Bankshal on Friday. Judge Kalpana Dey fixed January 29,2010 for framing charges against Chakraborty.

Bengal opposes Centre’s coal policy
The state government protested against the Central government policy regarding the allocation of coal blocks to the state. It also requested the Centre to revise the policy. Minister for Commerce and Industries Nirupam Sen has written to Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal in this connection.

Two security guards arrested
The police arrested two security guards on Friday in connection with a theft that took place in Salt Lake on Thursday. According to the police,Kamal Dey,owner of the security agency and Kumaresh Har,the security guard of the building,robbed one Abhijit Sarkar’s residence on Thursday evening.
