Maoist arrested from Binpur
Police arrested a hardcore Maoist,Kaliram Soren (30),from Binpur on Monday. Mukesh Kumar,Additional SP,Jhargram,said Soren was a landmine expert and he operated under Sashadhar Mahato. Soren has technical knowledge of making various types of landmines. He operated in the Binpur area and was a close associate of Mahato,said police. Soren was wanted in at least three cases. The CPM,meanwhile,observed 12-hour bandh in the Salboni area,where three party activists had been killed by Maoists on Sunday.

Two Trinamool groups clash
A clash broke out between two groups of Trinamool Congress in Nonadanga,east Kolkata,on Monday. The issue was allegedly sharing of money from real estate ventures. The injured included brothers Hasa Mondal and Sadhu Mondal. Meghnad Halder,a dealer of building materials who was associated with CPM,had joined Trinamool in May 2010. Hasa and Sadhu,who were in the same business and were close to the local councillor,alleged that the councillor had begun to favour Halder. The clash had started over a trivial issue but the brothers were injured allegedly by goons engaged by the councillor.
