Goods train derailS in Malda,train services hit

Railways workers perform track maintenance after a fertiliser-laden goods train en route to Assam’s Rangapani town derailed near Kumedpur station in Malda district on Wednesday. The derailment snapped the rail services between southern part of Bengal and the Northeastern region,railway officials said.

The derailment of four wagons of the train damaged about fifty metres of the track,they said. Many trains were diverted through Katihar in Bihar following the disruption of rail services,the officials said,adding that repair work was on.
