Ghising’s aide quits GNLF,joins ABGL

In a significant move in Hill politics,Rajen Mukhia,a long time aide of Subhash Ghising of the Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) on Saturday joined Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL) in Dareeling. Along with Mukhia,the former convenor of GNLF’s Terai branch,hundreds of his followers joined ABGL. Significantly,he left GNLF around one month ago claiming that Ghising has become almost “inactive” in the Hill movement and politics.

Mukhia said,“The GNLF has almost ceased o exist. When I asked Ghising to return to active politics,he refused. He is not even clear on the issues of Gorkhaland and murder of ABGL president Madan Tamang. His silence on Hill issues suggests that he has become an ally of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) which is unacceptable to us. So we decided to quit GNLF and join ABGL.” Accusing Bimal Gurung-led GJM of creating trouble in the Hills and ruining its economy,Mukhia said that ABGL is the best platform to fight against GJM atrocities.
