Nearly two months after it was shut down following a fire, South Kolkata’s Acropolis Mall is set to reopen on Saturday.

According to its management, the popular mall, which sees a daily average footfall of 15,000, has undergone extensive repairs. Most of the mall — including its movie theatre and food court — will open to the public Saturday, although some stores are still undergoing renovations.

“The reopening will mark the beginning of a new chapter for Acropolis Mall, and we look forward to welcoming back loyal customers,” said Subhadip Basu, GM of Acropolis Mall.

According to the management, the mall received clearance to reopen on July 29.

The mall has been closed since a fire broke out there on June 12. Firefighting operations lasted two hours. No injuries were reported.
