FIR against four for rape bid

Malda police have launched a search for four persons who were named in an FIR alleging attempted gangrape of a Class IX student Friday evening. According to a complaint lodged with the Englishbazar police station in Malda,the girl of Budhia village was returning home from her tuition classes when she saw her brother being beaten up by the accused. When she tried to stop them,the four tore off her clothes and tried to sexually abuse her,according to the police complaint by the girl’s mother. Superintendent of Police,Malda,Kalyan Mukherjee visited the girl at the hospital and said she had marks of multiple injuries on her body. It has been learnt that the four youths had come to demand Rs 4,000 from the victim girl’s brother,which they had lent him.
