In September,the cargo handling dropped to 1.6 million tonnes from August figure of 2.6 million tonnes. The stalemate has led to diversion of at least six cargo-vessels from Haldia port to other ports in September. Sources said,the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) has lost nearly 1.5 lakh tonnes of dry bulk cargo to Visakhapatnam and Paradip ports.
