CPM’s premonition

Mamata Banerjee’s consistent remarks about the Assembly elections being just “two to three months away” pinches the Left most.

Mamata Banerjee’s consistent remarks about the Assembly elections being just “two to three months away” pinches the Left most. While the Left leaders take swipe at her statement in public by saying that the Railway Minister is not aware of the country’s Constitution,in private they feel nervous about her remarks, which she has made a regular feature in all her rallies. The top brass of the ruling CPM apprehend that Mamata might be saying so to influence the Centre and the Election Commission in holding elections ahead of the schedule. Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and CPM state secretary Biman Bose has told their close associates that election may take place any day after December. They suspect that after December 11,the Election Commission can make a move for holding the polls anytime in the state.
