At a function organised to protest against the attack on councillor Mala Roy,Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury once again took a dig at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
She (Mamata) used to talk much without doing any work. And now she has stopped talking altogether. All she does is Facebook, Chowdhury said.
Referring to the political circus over the presidential election,he said the CM had made herself a laughing stock. After removing the CPM,her next agenda is to uproot Congress. My appeal to Congress supporters who had joined Trinamool,do not see with your ears. Use your eyes. Use your intelligence over what the new government has done in the last one year for the development of the state, he said.
He said Mamata had underestimated Sonia Gandhis ingenuity as a politician. With 10 MPs in hand, she was foolish enough to think she would be able to arm-twist Sonia Gandhi. She thought Sonia was one of the district TMC leaders who would act according to her whims and fancies, Chowdhury said.
Asked when would the WBPCC sever ties with the ally TMC,if at all,he said he would not be able to comment on it as the Congress would act according to its legislature. He also said even the Trinamool would not leave the Congress at the Centre. In that case,Trinamool would lose the Rail ministry and a lot of credibility in the process among the people of West Bengal, he said.
Nadia District Congress president Shankar Singh, too, said the Congress versus CPM fight was much better than the Congress versus Trinamool fight. They played by the rules of the game and had some ethics. Trinamool is ready to hit below the belt and had never adhered to the rules of an ally, he said.
Referring to Firhad Hakim calling Adhir Chowdhury a criminal,he said,Firhad Hakim is an extortionist and promoter who overnight became the urban development minister. He has no control over his language.
Talking about how the state was being ruled under Mamatas leadership,he said,The CM along with her band of ministers was making a mockery of almost everything.
On the other hand, after APJ Abdul Kalam refused to be in the fray for the Presidential election, state BJP president Rahul Sinha hinted that the NDA would have supported Kalam if he was contesting. If Kalam had contested the election,he would have certainly won because unlike the UPA,there is no contradiction in the NDA camp. The meetings are on and in two days,NDA would clear its stand but as of now,we are neither supporting PA Sangma nor Pranab Mukherjee, he said.
