CAB rules out replay of JC final

The Cricket Association of Bengal today ruled out a replay of the JC Mukherjee Trophy final that was cancelled on Tuesday.

The tournament rules dont allow a replay, CAB joint-secretary Biswarup Dey told The Indian Express.

Incidentally,Mohun Bagan were present at the ground to play the final but their opponent Kalighat didnt appear as their request to defer the match was turned down by the CAB tournament committee.

Kalighat then requested the parent body to arrange a replay,but Bagan were unwilling.

The tournament committee will once again meet on Saturday to take a decision about the final. According to CAB insiders,the committee is unlikely to take any disciplinary action against Kalighat. It will award the match to Bagan.
