Two persons were arrested from Dhanyarukhi village in Mangalkot in connection with the attack on Indian Express journalists on Friday.
Following an FIR lodged with Mangalkot police station by the journalists,police conducted all-night raids in the area and recovered the missing camera flash gun. Katwa Circle Inspector Samir Basak said Keshto Majhi and Dukhu Majhi were arrested late Friday night. Their interrogation led to the recovery of the stolen flash gun, he said.
On Friday,the Express team was covering the Congress 12-hour statewide bandh in Mangalkot. At Dhanyarukhi,where a team of Congress MLAs was assaulted by the villagers on July 15,a mob snatched the teams camera flash gun,camera memory card,mobile phones and Rs 2,600 for taking photos of burning huts in the village. The assault left the journalists with minor injuries.
