The state government on Wednesday transferred four officials of School Service Commission (SSC) including its secretary,Bedanga Biswas, for the mismanagement during a teachers recruitment exam on July 29.
To avoid such untoward incidents in the future,we have taken this disciplinary action against the officials, said state Education Minister Bratya Basu. The transfer will make the employees alert and fearful so that they will deliver the work with care in the days ahead, he added.
The minister also directed SSC chairman Chittaranjan Mondal to be vigilant and more careful while conducting the examination, and instructed him to strengthen the monitoring process of the SSC examination. The government has banned Saraswaty Press,a government press,to print question papers for the SSC in the future.
Basu had earlier rejected the inquiry report prepared by Mondal about the exam fiasco since it did not name the officials responsible for it. He then asked his department to initiate a fresh inquiry into the incident.
The test had witnessed massive mismanagement that made the government to hold re-examination at five centres in Hooghly,Burdwan ,Malda,South 24-Parganas and Howrah.
