18-year-olds body found with smashed head

Mystery surrounded the death of an 18-year-old boy whose body was found at Bagjola canal bank near New Town in North 24-Parganas this morning by a few domestic helps who were passing by.

According to the police,Manish Pal,a resident of Gouranganagar Saradapalli,had been missing since Wednesday morning.

The victims family had lodged a complaint on Wednesday. On Wednesday,my son went out around 9 am to open our shop. When he did not return till late night,we filed a missing complaint at the New Town police station. He did not have any enemy, said Madhab Pal,the victims father.

Pal has a grocery shop at the supermarket in Baguihati.

According to police,the boy died of head injury. We have found his body with serious head injury. It seems his head was smashed with a blunt weapon. We have initiated a murder case and sent the body for postmortem, said a police officer at the Baguihati police station.
