On the instructions of Pradesh Congress Committee president Sachin Pilot, the district-level leaders are raising local issues with more intensity.The BJP and Congress are running their campaign for the civic body polls in a strategic manner. The polls will be held for 129 municipalities on August 17. While the BJP is keeping its campaign focused on the development schemes of central and state government, the Congress is in an attacking mode.
On the instructions of Pradesh Congress Committee president Sachin Pilot, the district-level leaders are raising local issues with more intensity. On Tuesday, Congress gave a memorandum to the President and asked that Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje should be removed following her involvement in the Lalit Modi controversy.

Leader of Opposition in the assembly, Rameshwar Dudi said the Congress is focussing on local issues and BJP grovernment’s failures. State Congress spokesperson Archana Sharma said the BJP had not come up with any development plans in the past one-and-a-half years.
The condition of small cities and towns has deteriorated. The funds for city development schemes approved by the Congress government have been stopped by the BJP government, she alleged. The rate of crime has increased by 20 percent in the past one-and-a-half years, she said. The offences against women and weaker sections of the society have also increased by a significant margin. On the other hand, the BJP claims that the victory will be theirs in the upcoming civic elections.
