Telangana CM KCR inaugurates lift irrigation project to fill Anjanagiri reservoir with water from Krishna River
The CM said that the lift scheme, which has been built with giant pumps, will meet drinking water needs of the people of south Telangana.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao Saturday inaugurated the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme at Narlapur in Nagarkurnool district.
He switched on the mega pump house with the press of a button to start the wet run of lifting of water from Krishna River into the Anjanagiri reservoir which has a capacity of 6.4 TMC.
The CM said that the lift scheme, which has been built with giant pumps, will meet drinking water needs of the people of south Telangana.
“It is a big festival day for south Telangana farmers as their long cherished dreams of having irrigation water throughout the year have been fulfilled,” he said.
The project will provide water for irrigation and drinking purposes to Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, Narayanapet, Rangareddy and Nalgonda districts. About 10 lakh acre will be irrigated by the project’s waters in 1,200 villages under 70 mandals in the six districts.
