Girls bagged the top honours in SSC at Mahadji Shinde High School. All the three toppers from the school this year are girls. Heena Sheikh topped the school with 87.25 per cent. Manisha Dudde,who lost her mother just a few months before the exams,scored 83.9 per cent. Both the students want to pursue a career in computer sciences from the Abeda Inamdar College. I have two younger brothers and my father is a driver. I used to cook for my to younger brothers before going to school. I am very happy with the results, said Manisha. The girls come from poor families.

Orientation programme for aspiring managers

The International School of Business and Media,spearheaded by Pramod Kumar,organised a six-day orientation programme for aspiring managers and media professionals pursuing post graduate and undergraduate courses. The programme was held at Vimannagar campus where guest lectures,communication workshops,creative activities and management games were conducted. Dr YV Verma,chief operating officer,LG Electronics was the chief guest.

Workshop on Pune & its Environs

The Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Samvidya Institute of Cultural Studies will organise a workshop on Pune and its Environs Through the Ages. The workshop will reveal the facets of Pune and its environs geography,biodiversity,archaeology,history,traditions of art,architecture and sanskrit studies,traditions of literature,music,theatre,dance and films,Pune in the 19th century,independence movement and the post independence Pune. The workshop will be held on July 16-17 and 23-24.
