At Italian ambassador Roberto Toscano’s book launch Between Terrorism and Global Governance at India Habitat Centre on Thursday, several luminaries showed up to celebrate the prolific Toscano’s second book in a year, quite a feat for any writer, and almost incredible for a top diplomat. Besides art critic Aman Nath and Francis Wacziarg of Neemrana Foundation,Oscar Pujol of Spanish Cultural Centre were present,as was Shashi Tharoor,Minister of State for External Affairs,an old friend of Toscano. “Roberto has tackled serious issues in a series of essays, which when taken together add up to a coherent argument,” said Tharoor. “From serious philosophical discussion to chapters on the international criminal court, the book packs it all,but what I found to be delicious reading was the chapter on the Muslims of Europe,” added Tharoor. Later,Toscano fielded questions on terrorism, governance, laws and values. The book is published by Har-Anand and is priced at Rs 250.
