A 45-year-old woman,identified as Maninder Kaur,allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Subhash Nagar Metro station in West Delhi on Wednesday morning.
According to police,the woman took the extreme step around 9 am. It looks like a case of suicide. Kaur was standing on the Metro station platform,which was not very crowded at that time of the morning. A police officer noticed her jumping and alerted the authorities. She was rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital,where doctors declared her dead on arrival, said DCP (Railways) B S Gurjar.
Kaur was a resident of Krishnapuri near Vikaspuri in West Delhi. Her husband,Amarjeet,has told police that Kaur seemed depressed for the past few days.
We are investigating the case from all angles. The post-mortem examination is over and the body has been handed over to the family, Gurjar said.
