Woman accuses friend of rape

A 32-Year-Old woman was allegedly raped by an acquaintance when she went to meet him on Wednesday afternoon. The woman,a resident of Sector 24,Rohini,is married and has a one-year-old son.

In a statement,the woman said that the accused,realtor Parvinder Singh (32),was known to her and they used to speak to each other over the phone. Apparently,they were acquainted with each other from their native place,Sonepat.

Police said that Singh,a resident of Bahadurgarh,had made plans to meet her at Rithala Metro station around 3 pm on Wednesday. They were supposed to discuss a job opportunity for the woman.

According to the complainant,Singh gave her a sedative-laced cold drink to drink. As soon as she lost consciousness,the man took her to a friends house where he raped her, a senior police officer said. Later,he dropped her at Peeragarhi.

Police have arrested Singh.
