Waiting for office cab,woman molested

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly molested and verbally abused by an inebriated man in Dhaula Kuan in the early hours of Sunday. The incident happened at the same spot from where a call centre employee was abducted and later gangraped on November 24. Police said the woman,an executive at the IGI Airport,was waiting at the Satya Niketan bus stop to be picked up by her office cab when the incident occurred. In her statement,the victim said around 1 am,the man — in his mid-twenties — approached her on his bike,asking if she needed to be dropped somewhere. When she refused,he reportedly turned “violent” and began abusing her. Her office cab arrived minutes later and the man,Deepak Shenoy,was handed over to the police. Shenoy has been charged under IPC Section 509 (outraging a woman’s modesty).
