The Manhattan Short Film Festival returns to India for the fifth time, and the organisers are inviting entries. The deadline is July 15. The festival, one of the most prestigious annual events in the short films category, takes place across multiple destinations in the world. As part of this, the films shortlisted for the award are screened at various venues in different countries for a week. The audience attending the event then votes for their favourite film to select the winner.
The festival was first brought to India in 2010. This year, in its 17th edition, the Indian arm of the festival has associated with Vivanta by Taj. “Manhattan Short in India has earned a coveted space. From inception, we have encouraged raw talent and showcased their work to a global audience,” says Anil Sadarangani, Festival Director of Manhattan Short in India.
Mumbai is among the 300 cities where the 10 short-listed films will be screened. The festival will take place across the world between September 26 and October 5. In Mumbai, the screenings will be from October 1 to 5 at Sitara Studio in Dadar.
