Vijender brushes off Kejriwal: ‘I’m in direct fight with Sheila’

Gupta brushed off AAP candidate Arvind Kejriwal,terming him an “insignificant factor”. “I am in direct fight with Shiela Dikshit,” he said.

Speaking on his strategy to take on the three-time chief minister,Gupta listed the reasons why Dikshit was going to lose in the coming polls.

“There is anti-incumbency and no development has taken place in her constituency for several years. Moreover,she runs the show through dummy MLAs. I would not like to name the person but everyone in her constituency knows who runs her chores in the area,” he said.

Confident of his victory,Gupta said he was a common man and people related to him. As the majority of voters in the constituency were government employees,he promised to address their grievances. “Good work is noticed by the public and appreciated. We are talking to party leaders and making micro-planning to win the seat. I will even request Narendra Modi to campaign for me,” Gupta said.

Attacking Dikshit on the redevelopment of Connaught Place,Gupta said that CP was not just “some area of her constituency” but a place that attracted tourists from all over the world. “She is the presiding head of NDMC,the local agency responsible for the upkeep of CP. Still,the place has become an eyesore,” he said.
