(Express photo by Gajendra Yadav)The Delhi government on Tuesday ordered a forensic and physical audit of all night shelters in the city after two persons died in the Coolie Camp shelter fire in Vasant Vihar. The government is also considering providing financial assistance for the families of the deceased, said Home and Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood, who inspected the site of the fire on Tuesday.
“The government has directed agencies managing shelters to remain vigilant… broader improvements are being taken up across all night shelters. The process to invite tenders to upgrade facilities is underway,” he said.
