Two arrested for duping families of missing persons

Two persons were arrested for allegedly cheating the families of persons reported missing by giving them false information,police said on Saturday. According to a senior police officer “Janardhan approached the police on July 18,after his nephew Rahul (7) went missing and got an advertisement published in a Hindi newspaper. Three days later,he got a call from one Amit Sharma who told him that he had seen Rahul and would bring him home. ‘Amit’ made Janardhan pay his transport charges. Pankaj Singh and Vinod were arrested on Friday following a complaint lodged by Janardhan.

Singh confessed that he had called Janardhan posing as Amit Sharma. Vinod was also arrested later.
