The Gurgaon police transferred a trainee sub-inspector in the traffic department for allegedly misbehaving with a senior politician on Saturday morning. The incident took place at Gurgaon's Rajiv Chowk around 12 pm,when Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) national vice-president Antram Tanwar was stopped by a traffic marshal for talking on the mobile while driving. According to Tanwar, the marshal not only stopped his vehicle but also dragged him out of it. The marshal then called for the traffic sub-inspector,who in turn issued a challan to the senior politician. The sub-inspector,Sachin Kumar, has been transferred back to police lines on a complaint of misbehaviour filed by Tanwar. Traffic marshals are deputed for helping the public and not misbehaving with them, asserted Gurgaon police commissioner S S Deswal. Action was also taken against the marshals superior,Deswal said, adding that traffic police personnel should not act solely on the guidance of a marshal.
