For a while now, veteran designer Rajesh Pratap Singh has been toying with the idea of adding the six yards to his oeuvre. Finally, the 44-year-old is exhibiting an exclusive collection of limited-edition saris at his Lodi Estate store, till Sunday. The range has been titled “Project Sari”. “This is my first time and this range is completely different from what we do otherwise. This is because of my love for textiles, and where I come from, women only wear saris, not salwar-kameez,” says Singh, who was born and brought up in Rajasthan. Singh has used cotton silk and chanderi, with Ajrak prints, geometric ikat weaves and traditional Indian motifs. The colour palette is a mix of orange, yellow and red, apart from the usual black and white and indigo dyes, and the saris are priced between Rs 23,000-Rs 33,000.

*The exhibition is on till October 13 at Singh’s Lodi Colony Main Market store. Contact: 24638788
