That Seventies Show

We began our meal with a small appetizer of Spanish grilled prawns (Rs 349),recommended by our server. The prawns were crisp on the outside and juicy from the inside,drizzled with Spanish mojo verde,a green herb-flavoured sauce,which was stuck to the original recipe. Next,we opted for the Hungarian paprika chicken with brown rice (Rs 289) and the pan-seared sea bass with baby potatoes (Rs 329). The chicken was creamy and soft,and the smooth texture of the paprika flavoured sauce and buttery mushrooms complimented the otherwise tasteless brown rice. The fish,marinated with lemon and dill sauce,was soft and succulent,and true to its Mediterranean roots. The veggies on the side,however,were wholly forgettable.

With their generous portion sizes,we didn’t have much room to stomach a dessert,but asked for their chef’s special Almo choco cake (Rs 169) anyway. The icing was a tad disappointing,with very few almonds and only shards of caramelized sugar on top. The cake itself was over-baked and did not make for a good after-meal.

The service is quick and efficient,and the restaurant also offers mock meat made from soya or tofu for vegans and vegetarians. The menu,incorporating specials from places as diverse as Morocco and Italy,is bound to attract food lovers. Our only gripe: the seating arrangement.
