Twelve years ago,on the backstreets of Paris,Vincent Bruno picked up a spray paint can. And he never put it down, covering the walls of the city with graffiti art, turning brick and stone into his personal canvas. Now in India,it isn’t only the town that the 28-year-old plans to paints red. As part of an “Art Show Festival” at Pure by Kuki in Greater Kailash-II,he will try his body art skills on three models today.

“Body art is very organic and interactive. As an artist,I can feel the canvas while I paint. It is not easy, each design has to match the anatomy of the model,” says Bruno,an expert in graffiti art, interior and exterior design, painting and tattoo art. This is a far cry from Bruno’s recent assignment — designing and painting the interiors of the King of Qatar’s home in Paris. “That was a new experience. I designed classic Arabic style interiors,” he says. He adds that he is also busy designing the interiors for Pure and a few south Delhi malls, besides exhibiting his work at the festival every week.

Among his performances at the Art Show Festival,Bruno is excited about the Vintage Scooter painting on September 4 when he will paint two Lambretta scooters, one in the Flower Power style of the 1960s and another in a modern, abstract style. On September 11,he will construct a wall called “Art in Peace”,a painting installation to commemorate those who lost their lives on 9/11.

The Art Show Festival will be held at Pure by Kuki in Greater Kailash-II from August 28 -September 11.
