Sex racket busted in Mahipalpur,two foreigners held

The arrests were made following a raid at a guesthouse — “365 Inn” — at L-30,Mahipalpur Extension.

The raids occurred after a 200-strong crowd of locals barged into the guesthouse at 10.15 pm,demanding that the “illegal activities” stop.

Prior to that,a brawl had taken place between a guesthouse employee and a villager. Thereafter,a crowd assembled outside the guesthouse. They shouted that they suspected illegal activities were going on inside and demanded to be let in.

Satbir Singh,who stays next door and is the complainant,told Newsline: “Seeing the crowd,the guesthouse staff locked themselves in. I have a Reliance tower on my roof. I saw one of the staff lowering a girl on it. I immediately called the PCR.”

One of the girls,reportedly from Bhopal,tried to escape by jumping off the first floor of the building. She was caught by the locals. They caught three others as well. When the police arrived,the girls were handed over.

Asked who had brought her to the Capital,a girl named a staffer of the guesthouse,Kalu.

Police arrested the women and took them to Vasant Kunj police station,where the girl from Bhopal complained of a shooting pain in the leg. She was taken to AIIMS,from where she managed to escape.

“She was admitted in the hospital. We are not sure how she escaped,” a senior police officer said.

Locals claimed that along with the call girls,they had also seen eight pimps and handed one of them over to the police.

The police,however,said only four women have been arrested. Thereafter,the,police locked up the main gates of Vasant Kunj police station and did not let any of the locals enter. At this,locals shouted anti-police slogans and alleged that the cops were involved in the racket.

A local,Kusum,said: “Beat constables frequent the guesthouse and spend a lot of time inside. The guesthouse is a menace here.”

Police sources said the racket has been going on in the guesthouse since January. The place even had a pick and drop facility for its clientele.

A case of immoral trafficking has been registered against the women and a search has been launched for the absconding one.
