People across demographics had to interact via video chat with students from Berea College,Kentucky.

Sixteen strangers met at the American Center last Saturday to play “Social Games”. People (across demographics) had to interact via video chat with students from Berea College,Kentucky. This was organised by Yellow Cat in association with Studio Lila,Alecca Carrano and Olivia Dar stores at Shahpur Jat and the American Center. “It requires a basic knowledge of using social networking sites. The idea is to see how technology has changed the way people interact with each other,” says Sukesh Arora,co-founder,Yellow Cat. The participants, divided into two groups, were given Facebook IDs. They had to share stories with each other; the more “unusual” the experience, the more points a team won. Groups were then given cameras and a set of proverbs. They had to convey the idea of a proverb through photos taken either of expressions or a part of the body. The images would then be uploaded so that the college team could crack the proverb. The Kentucky students had to guess the English proverbs while the Indian team had to decode Hindi ones given by their American counterparts. it was telling that many participants in India couldn’t guess the Hindi idioms.

The session will be held at Shahpur Jat on April 20,from 11am till 5pm. For registration, contact: http://www.yellowcat.in
