A police team rushed to the spot and found that the injured had been taken to a nursing home and further referred to Trauma Centre in Civil Lines where he died during treatment.
A 27-year-old man, a security guard by profession, was stabbed multiple times with an ice-pick by an unidentified assailant in Northeast Delhi’s Khajuri Khas on Thursday, officers said.
DCP(Northeast) Joy Tirkey said that on around 5:20 PM on Thursday, they received a PCR call that a man had been stabbed at the Khajuri Chowk.
A police team rushed to the spot and found that the injured had been taken to a nursing home and further referred to Trauma Centre in Civil Lines where he died during treatment.
Police identified the deceased was Varun, a resident of Sonia Vihar. He is unmarried and works as a security guard. “He had been visiting his sister in Garhi Mendu and has come to Khajuri Chowk to buy fruits for her,” said the DCP.
Police said a person named Karan, 25, saw Varun waving his hands while the former was riding a scooty and as a good samaritan, stopped and took Varun to the nursing home. Varun told him that he had been stabbed by someone thrice in the abdomen with an ice-pick.
A case of murder has been lodged and efforts are on to establish the motive behind the incident.
