Second Innings

It was television that first brought Purab Kohli into limelight. And it is his love for television that has now brought him back on the small screen, after almost a year,as the anchor for NDTV Imagine’s Knights and Angels. The reality show will scout for cheer leaders for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. “I was busy signing films and shooting for them when Red Chillies Idiot Box approached me to anchor their new reality show Knights and Angels,” says Kohli, who has been basking at the success of Rock On. A little confused initially,he soon gave the green signal. “You cannot ask for a bigger producer than Shah Rukh Khan,” he adds.

Although Kohli had been a VJ on Channel V for many years,he feels anchoring a full-fledged reality show is a different ballgame. “Firstly,I have forgotten how to anchor because it’s been over a year. Also, the kind of shows that I have hosted have always been very informal,” says Kohli.

Kohli’s love for cricket and his new-found liking for Twenty20 was yet another reason why he couldn’t resist the offer. Being amongst 24 girls is also a plus point for this young VJ-turned-actor. “I wonder how I am going to handle so many girls. But I’m not complaining,” he says. Neither is he complaining about the films he has bagged. “Mocktail,A Rectangular Love Story and a couple of other films are in the pipeline. It finally looks like I am busy,” he jokes.
