A 16-year-old boy lost both his legs after a fall from a moving train in Shahdara Tuesday morning. The boy was on his way to school in Old Delhi and had to disembark at the Old Delhi railway station.
However, the boys family members have alleged that he was pushed by milkmen who were travelling in the same train after a brief quarrel, police said.
Officials said they are yet to receive a complaint from the victims family members, but if they do so,a case would be registered and an investigation taken up.
The incident occurred this morning when the boy,Deepak, was en route to his school in Old Delhi along with his other friends by train.
The compartment in which Deepak was seated also had a few milkmen, police said. Suddenly,an argument broke out among the milkmen and Deepak too was dragged into it. It was then that the school boy was allegedly thrown off the train after a scuffle broke out.
He fell onto the tracks and both his legs came under the moving train when the locomotive approached the Nathu colony railway crossing. His friends got off and left while the other passengers in the compartment informed police. Deepak was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors said he is presently unfit for a statement.
The teenager is a resident of Vikas Nagar in Ghaziabads Loni area. He lives with his parents and two younger sisters.
