To show the value of the special bond they share with their grandparents,the tiny tots of D.P.S Mathura Road celebrated Grandparents Day on February 27,2013.

These bundles of joy got the opportunity to shower their grandparents with the warmth and love they deserve by putting up a special presentation that enthrall ed and mesmerized everyone.

Cinema has been an intrinsic part of our life,and since 2013 is the year we celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema,there was no better theme to entertain and amuse the grandparents. The magic of cinema was recreated on stage by these tiny tots through their presentation ‘Red Carpet’. The ‘Red Carpet’ is an award function with a difference,where dialogues of Indian Cinema celebrating life and its values are honoured. The programme was followed by a carnival for the grandparents and the grandchildren.

Ruskin Bond visits Bal Bharati Public School,Pitampura

Dressed in a tweed blazer,with his twinkling eyes and effervescent good looks,Ruskin Bond looked like a story teller grandfather settling down comfortably on the sofa,with his enraptured audience spilling around,cross-legged on the floor. Twelfth of February was a special day in B.B.P.S. Pitampura,when Mr. Ruskin Bond visited the school.

The interactive session,with the audience comprising of fans and readers from different sections from classes six to eleven,was dominated by queries on writing methods and Bond’s childhood. Quipping that writing horror stories was a personal favourite,he spoke about how he himself would get scared while writing about ghosts. Ruskin Bond recalled his earlier visit to the school a couple of years ago,and remarked,“This is one of the friendliest schools I have been to”. He willingly shared anecdotes about his foray into Bollywood and had the audience in splits. The interactive session ended with Bond signing books for students.

Not only did Ruskin Bond patiently answer the endless queries of the students,he encouraged them to follow their dreams and told them to pursue what they would be comfortable doing,even when they were old. He also read out from “A Little Book of Life”,his newly-published book of favourite quotes.

Tale of ‘Cinderella’ brought to life by Mount Carmel students

The children of Mount Carmel Junior School,Anand Niketan,brought the tale of ‘Cinderella’ to life on the 27th and 28th February.

It is a fairy tale embodying an element of unjust oppression and triumph,and a thousands of variants are known throughout the world. The protagonist is a young woman living in unfortunate circumstances that are suddenly changed due to fate. The moral of the story is quite relevant for all of us- ‘beauty is a treasure,but graciousness is priceless.’

The cast of 153 children from Nursery to class III,along with a choir of 70 little ones performed the much loved and much heard story of Cinderella. The colorful costumes,sets and props transported the audience to a magical world as the talented actors and harmonious voices brought the fairytale to life under the imaginative and insightful direction of S P Pearlson.

GD Salwan Public School celebrates Achiever’s Day

GD Salwan Public School celebrated the Achiever’s Day to honour and award the talented students who had excelled in sports .

The awards were given away by the Director ,Retd.Group Capt. Suresh Kumar and the Principal,Vijay Laxmi Singh who said that ‘the glory ,the excellence in our endeavours comes from our dedication,determination and grit and cohesion.’

She further added that it was a much awaited event in every students life,as it ‘gives the returns to the efforts put in by them throughout their endeavours. It gives them a sense of achievement.’

The Prize distribution ceremony was followed by a beautiful medley of Hindi songs by the choir.

Maxfort School hosts delegates from six foreign universities

In order to provide the students of classes IX to XI a global perspective to education,Maxfort School,Rohini,organized a workshop for meeting and interacting with foreign delegates from six different state universities of U.S.A. on February 13,2013. The event began with the members of the student council giving a warm and traditional welcome to representatives from Milwaukee School Of Engineering,University of central Arkansas,Lyndon State University,D’ Youville and Idaho State University.

The principal,Ragini Kaul,reiterated the importance of providing students with opportunities that help develop intellectual awareness,knowledge,and perspective on global issues and global education.

Springdales School,Dhaula Kuan,bids farewell to graduating students

Springdales School,Dhaula Kuan,bid adieu to the graduating class of 2013 on February 17th,2013. Present on this nostalgic occasion were the proud parents of the outgoing batch,members of the school Management Board and distinguished guests. Prof. Mushirul Hasan,Director General,National Archives of India,New Delhi was the guest of Honour for the evening.
