Tagore has been translated into 27 languages,but nowhere in the world has there been a translation in Urdu. This is a pity because there isn’t any language more romantic than Urdu,” says poet Indira Varma about her latest effort,Romancing Tagore,a book in which the poems of the Nobel Laureate have been presented as Urdu nazms. “I have been romancing Rabindranath Tagore for the past 10 years as I translated 115 of his poems into Urdu,” says Varma. Accompanying the book is a CD with a dozen songs,set to music by Debajyoti Mishra and rendered by Shubha Mudgal and Pakistani singer Nazam Shiraz. The book is priced at Rs 2,950 while the CD alone is for Rs 275. The writer is a student of EXIMS
