Repairs complete, Chirag Dilli flyover to open today
Delhi PWD Minister Atishi said, "Providing relief from traffic jams to the people of Delhi is the Arvind Kejriwal-led government’s top priority.

Traffic movement is set to ease on the Outer Ring Road as the repair and maintenance work on the Chirag Dilli flyover is completed, and the stretch will be fully operational from Wednesday, said officials.
Delhi PWD Minister Atishi said, “Providing relief from traffic jams to the people of Delhi is the Arvind Kejriwal-led government’s top priority. In this direction, the PWD has completed the maintenance work of the Chirag Dilli flyover, ahead of its schedule. Now that the work on both carriageways has been completed, the flyover will be open for traffic from tomorrow.”
She said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal closely monitored the maintenance work regularly, and that the work was carried out at twice the speed.
“Due to rain, the flyover maintenance work was halted several times, causing delays. However, the PWD showed its commitment by working round the clock and completing it ahead of schedule. We are proud that PWD has taken another step forward in the direction of making Delhi free of traffic jams,” said Atishi.
The work on the first carriageway of the Chirag Dilli flyover was completed on March 31, and repairs on the second carriageway started on April 1. The stretch falls on the Outer Ring Road and connects Southeast and Southwest Delhi, IIT and Airport.
Meanwhile, Atishi also visited the under-construction half flyover at Sarai Kale Khan T-junction. She said work on the flyover will also be completed by July, before the targeted time.
Once completed, the elevated corridor will provide signal-free movement between Sarai Kale Khan and Southeast Delhi to ITO and Central Delhi. The three-lane flyover is expected to cut five tons of CO2 emissions and help commuters save Rs 19 crore annually, the PWD minister stated.
